YOU TRACK PROTEIN, CALORIES AND CARBS.
BUT HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN FIBRE?

A high-protein breakfast can be much more than a shake. See how WHEY-X5®, BESTOATS, fruit and seeds can work together in simple meals you will actually want to repeat. Three practical recipes, everyday ingredients and a more complete approach to daily nutrition.

WHEY-X5 and BESTOATS by Genius Nutrition with a bowl of oats and fruit

You know how much protein is in your shake. You probably track your calories and carbohydrates too. But how often do you check your fibre intake? A diet that provides enough protein does not automatically provide enough fibre. You do not have to choose between them. You simply need to make room for both in the same routine.

Instead of adding another complicated nutrition rule, start with the meals you already eat: a breakfast bowl, a snack at work or pancakes at the weekend. WHEY-X5® and BESTOATS can form the base, while fruit, seeds and other plant foods help complete the meal.

The incomplete picture

You hit your protein target. But what else is on the plate?

When your diet is organised around protein, it is easy to focus on that one number. Fruit, vegetables, whole grains and seeds can quickly become secondary, even though they play a different role in your daily diet.

The answer is not to automatically reduce your protein intake. It is to look at the entire meal instead of focusing on a single number from the nutrition label.

The practical approach

Complete the meal, not just the macro target.

  • Protein: keep the sources that suit your goals.
  • Fibre: include a variety of plant foods.
  • Portions: adjust quantities to your overall daily intake.
  • Taste: build combinations you will actually enjoy repeating.
Beyond protein

How much fibre are you actually getting each day?

For adults, EFSA considers 25 g of dietary fibre per day an adequate intake for normal bowel function. This is a general reference, not an amount that needs to come from a single meal and not an individual recommendation for every medical situation. [1]

Fruit, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds are all useful dietary sources of fibre. Variety across your meals is a better starting point than expecting one ingredient or one product to do everything. [2]

In practice, you can start at breakfast, add vegetables at lunch, have a piece of fruit as a snack and include lentils, chickpeas or another plant food in one of your main meals. Quantities should reflect your preferences, tolerance and energy requirements without turning every plate into another complicated calculation.

Protein and fibre do not replace each other.

Reaching your protein target does not tell you how much fibre you consumed. They need to be considered separately.

Two ingredients, complementary roles

WHEY-X5® + BESTOATS: from protein shake to complete breakfast

WHEY-X5® combines whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate, WPC and WPI. It is an easy way to add protein to an oat bowl, yoghurt or recipe instead of limiting whey protein to a post-workout shaker. The formula also includes CFW® cold filtration and DigeZyme®.

BESTOATS is an instant oat powder available in Unflavoured and Chocolate Dreams. It provides complex carbohydrates and dietary fibre and can be used in shakes, breakfast bowls, overnight oats, pancakes and other recipes. The 600 g pack provides 12 servings of 50 g.

Different flavour combinations make it easy to change the experience without rebuilding the whole recipe. Think vanilla and berries, chocolate and pear, or apple and cinnamon. The important part is to adjust the quantities to the meal you are preparing and to your overall diet.

A simple example from the labels

32 g of protein does not mean 32 g of fibre.

A combination of 50 g BESTOATS Unflavoured and 33 g WHEY-X5® Vanilla & Honey, prepared with water, provides approximately 32 g of protein and 2.27 g of fibre. The calculation combines the declared values of the two servings before adding fruit, seeds or any other ingredients.

This is exactly why fruit and other plant foods still matter. WHEY-X5® and BESTOATS can provide a convenient base for the meal, but they are not supposed to represent your entire diet.

Ideas for home or work

3 recipes with protein, oats and fruit

Use these combinations as practical starting points for one serving. Adjust the liquid according to your preferred texture and adapt quantities to your own nutrition plan. You do not need to eat all three recipes in the same day.

01 · Breakfast

Creamy vanilla and berry oat bowl

Ingredients: 50 g BESTOATS Unflavoured, 33 g WHEY-X5® Vanilla & Honey, 200-250 ml water or milk, 100 g berries and, optionally, 5 g chia seeds.

Preparation: gradually mix the powders with the liquid until you reach a creamy consistency. If you use chia seeds, stir them in and leave the mixture for around 15 minutes so they can absorb some of the liquid. Add the berries at the end. For a thinner texture, simply add a little more liquid.

Try raspberries, blueberries or a mixed berry combination, either fresh or properly defrosted. You can easily change the flavour while keeping the same basic recipe.

02 · Prepare the night before

Creamy chocolate oats with pear and vanilla

Ingredients: 40 g BESTOATS Chocolate Dreams, 25 g WHEY-X5® in your preferred flavour, 150 g plain yoghurt, 80-120 ml water or milk, 100 g pear, 5 g ground flaxseed and 3-5 drops of iDROPS Vanilla Paradise, according to taste.

Preparation: combine the yoghurt, powders and liquid, then mix in the flaxseed and 3 drops of iDROPS Vanilla Paradise. Taste and adjust up to 5 drops if you prefer a stronger vanilla flavour. Transfer the mixture to a sealed container and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, stir again and add the washed pear, cut into small cubes. Add a little extra liquid if you prefer a lighter texture.

Chocolate, vanilla and pear create a creamy combination that can be prepared in advance for breakfast or a convenient snack at work. Keep the mixture refrigerated until you are ready to eat it.

03 · Weekend

Oat pancakes with apple and cinnamon

Ingredients: 50 g BESTOATS Unflavoured, 25 g WHEY-X5® Vanilla & Honey, 1 egg, 60-100 ml milk or water, 100 g grated apple, half a teaspoon of baking powder and cinnamon to taste.

Preparation: whisk the egg with the liquid, add the powders, baking powder and cinnamon, then fold in the grated apple. Leave the mixture for a few minutes and adjust the consistency if necessary. Cook small pancakes in a lightly greased non-stick pan over medium-low heat on both sides until fully cooked through.

Serve with plain yoghurt and a few slices of fresh fruit. Keep the toppings simple so the apple and cinnamon remain the main flavours of the recipe.

Nutritional values vary according to the flavours, liquid and ingredients used. These recipes contain milk through WHEY-X5®, while the pancakes also contain egg. Always check individual product labels for allergens.

Increase gradually

More fibre does not mean adding everything at once

Increase fibre intake gradually so your digestive system has time to adjust. There is no need to suddenly add large portions of oats, seeds, legumes and other fibre-rich foods to every meal.

Start with one simple change, see how you tolerate it and build from there. If you have a digestive condition or follow a prescribed diet, discuss significant dietary changes with your doctor or dietitian.

Hydration

Fibre and fluids work together

Adequate fluid intake helps dietary fibre perform its normal role in bowel function. Your individual fluid requirements will vary according to physical activity, health status, diet and environmental conditions.

Keep water available throughout the day, not just next to your shaker. A useful nutrition routine should work at your desk, at home and outside the gym as well.

Conclusion

Do not rebuild your entire diet. Complete what is missing.

You do not need the perfect breakfast or a long list of products. You need a few meals that fit your schedule and are easy enough to prepare consistently.

Use WHEY-X5® to complement your protein intake and BESTOATS as an oat-based foundation, then vary the fruit, seeds and other ingredients. Look at the rest of your day as well: one balanced breakfast does not replace variety at lunch and dinner.

Keep tracking your protein. Just give fibre the same attention. That is how you build a more complete daily routine without sacrificing convenience or taste.
